Madison Rebecca
I've been sitting here trying to figure out what to say. The truth is... I have no clue what I am supposed to write, so we'll start from the beginning.
I was born to an Air Force officer and a local news reporter in Colorado Springs. Within 6 months, we moved to North Carolina, and a couple years after that we moved to Germany.
Our next move was back to Colorado, and four years later we were off to Japan. In Japan, I was exposed to a completely different type of culture... I also experienced one of the biggest earthquakes and tsunamis in world history. A couple years later I was off to Rhode Island and 11 months after that we moved to Northern Virginia -- right outside of Washington DC. I've been here ever sense. Every summer I get to gallivant around a tiny north-western Washington town on the Canadian border, which I ever- so- lovingly call home.
So, now you know where I've been, but you still don't really know what I'm about. First and foremost I love Jesus Christ. I grew up in a Christian home and had the pleasure this summer of serving Him in Zimbabwe. My second love is new experiences... I love new things. New places. New people. New and surprising adventures... all of it!
But, on a normal day you'd find me curled up in a corner reading anything I can get my hands on, or going to my favorite spots in DC, hiking, hanging out with my friends and writing letters, trying my hand at watercolor painting, and travel photography, compiling an ever-growing travel destination bucket list, watching movies, utterly failing at most things athletic, oh... and probably eating cookie dough.
This is my attempt at adding 'blogging' to that list. So this is me. And I am giving you a front row seat to my inner-most thoughts, my humorous and slightly embarrassing mistakes, my everyday life, and my out-of-the-ordinary adventures... and probably everything in between.
